About The Author
Gabriel was a regulator having worked at the Autorité des marchés financiers for eight years as both a Securities Analyst, Financial Statements and a Senior Securities Analyst, Corporate Finance. He was responsible for the review and analysis of capital raising offerings and take-over bids that are subject to the provisions of the Securities Act (Québec) and securities regulation in Canada. Mr. Araish also participated in various legislative and regulation projects and initiatives of the Autorité des marchés financiers, whether local or at the Canadian Securities Administrators level, particularly as a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators’ Continuous Disclosure Committee.
Mr. Araish has greatly contributed to the mission of the Autorité des marchés financiers by notably leading the multidisciplinary team at the Autorité des marchés financiers that has studied and drafted the crowdfunding rules and coordinated the work with the other participating Canadian regulators.
Before joining the Autorité des marchés financiers, Mr. Araish worked for an important accounting firm based in Montréal, Québec, for 5 years, in the audit practice group. Mr. Araish has led numerous audit files involving private and public companies in various industries. Mr. Araish obtained his Bachelor of Commerce in Honours Accounting from McGill University in 2004. He then completed his Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy at McGill University in 2007, and is a member of the Ordre des Comptables Professionnels Agréés du Québec.
Currently, Gabriel owns and operates multiple businesses, both locally and internationally, in many industries, including Securities Regulation and Compliance Consulting, Real Estate and Private Lending.
